I'm Laura Woody, founder of Connections Coaching and Consulting. With a background in non-profit leadership, clinical social work, and professional coaching, I bring a holistic perspective to supporting both individuals and teams. My approach is rooted in deep listening, understanding context, and co-creating practical, strategic solutions that actually work in the real world.
A little more about me.
Creativity, honest conversations, and coffee (so much coffee) keep me going. I believe in the power of connection—within teams, across organizations, in community, and most importantly, with yourself.
When I’m not coaching, consulting, or having deep conversations about work and life, you’ll find me traveling, making art, or spending time with my family in Northern Virginia. I live in a multi-generational home with my husband, two kids, and my parents.
My core values are:
Connection: I believe that true connection grows where the other is seen and known, valued and held for who they truly are. Relationships rooted in this kind of radical acceptance are filled with compassion, empathy, and a recognition of our shared humanity. Connection can change everything.
Curiosity: There is so much power in asking questions and being open to the answers. Curiosity seeing what is and imagining what could be. It's embracing that life is full of "both/and's" and non-judgementally holding the present moment with open hands.
Courage: I strive to be vulnerable and authentic even when it feels risky or unflattering. Courage is bravely taking the next step even when the path is unclear. Taking the chance. Setting a needed boundary. It's laughing, dreaming, creating, hoping, and reaching out, even in the darkness. Courage is doing it afraid.
